In 1948, Fernandez Hospital was founded as a small maternity clinic that gradually expanded into a full-fledged women's hospital. The hospital, which has a history spanning seven decades, currently has five key locations in Hyderabad and focuses on providing effective, dependable, and individualized healthcare for women and newborns.

The Bogulkunta branch of Fernandez Hospital is a flagship facility that began as a two-bed maternity clinic in 1948 and expanded over the course of seven decades to become a 110-bed facility. This hospital not only provides specialized care in obstetrics and neonatology, but it also features a fully functional midwife-led unit (MLU) to offer maternity care to low-risk mothers.

The hospital has specialized teams of obstetricians, nurses, doctors, neonatologists, gynecologists, and anesthetists to manage the extensive in-house facilities. Fernandez Hospital Bogulkunta Founders & Team:

A young couple named Leslie and Lourdes Fernandez opened a two-bed clinic in June 1948. At Niloufer Hospital, Dr. Lourdes began her medical training. Later, she graduated from the University of Dublin in Ireland with a diploma in obstetrics and gynecology. Along with her supportive husband, she laid the foundation of the hospitals as they are today.

The personality of Dr. Leslie, a physician by profession, was far more complex. First and foremost, he was a kind physician who always let his patients know they were in good hands. He was not just a skilled administrator, but a dedicated social worker as well. He was a diligent and gifted painter who shared with his audience the many stunning locations from his worldly travels. Last but not least, Dr. Leslie was a genuine philanthropist who is renowned for his generosity and selfless service in the fight against cancer.

Since 1985, their daughter Dr. Evita Fernandez and her skilled and knowledgeable medical staff have been in charge of the hospital. The hospitals have become a foundation now that Dr. Evita is in charge. Evita made the decision to change the private corporation into a "Not for Profit" foundation in August 2018.
